Oh, great, the main reason for me to upgrade from 95 just went away, I might as well hold on a few more years...

Vote: Netflix.

Oh man, I remember having one of these stuck on to a huge-ass CRT over a decade ago.

An alternative title to this post is "Create an insect and spider nest to save a few bucks on a curtain".

#6 is kinda.... Well, the new desktop button is designed to just have you slam the mouse to the bottom right and activate it, no aiming needed.

$75,000 a year is enough for one guy to live comfortably in a shack in Silicon Valley.

@paravorheim: Haha, yeah, it does take some monkeying, and I still have the "Test Mode" in the bottom right from it because I didn't feel like turning it off.

@Jasked: "Why clone the drive? If you buy a second drive you should just do your OS installation on it and skip the cloning."

Ah, crap, forgot to mention this in my comment, but you can just use truecrypt to encrypt your whole drive and never bother with deleting and zero-filling your disks.

Clonezilla actually works on everything (I think), not just Linux, and it's what I use for Windows.

@craiglloyd: XBCD connects perfectly. Don't generalize just because Sony makes it difficult.

10 minutes, a soldering iron, and a roll of electrical tape is all you need to get your old Xbox controller hooked up.

@Michael Interbartolo III: I remember last year, Netflix was adding episodes for Heroes (and possibly Legend of the Seeker, but not to sure of that) during the season, before the DVD, which was cool, but sadly they don't seem to do it for other [better] shows.

I rip out everything and bag it. One day... one day I'll have enough magnets for a Gauss cannon and cases to make a plate-armor suit!

@mnerd: Yep, it's so awesome that you can buy a DVI cable for like $5, all sorts of splitters and adapters for less than a buck.

Firefox has had this for a while, and it's damned annoying when you try to undo something and wind up eradicating your entire url.

@Joga: It's disabled by default.

Okay, wow, I just used the beta... wow. I can understand some of the annoying changes as just being something new that they're trying, like tabs on top, the orange "Firefox" button, the really spaced out tabs, etc. What I don't get is why they disabled the damned EXIT, window, and minimize buttons. I just want to

Even if Firefox used up 500 pixels vertically out-of-the-box, I'd still use it, because the addons make life so much easier.

Heh, I never even noticed that because of flashblock.
