Yeah their removal of redundant systems (even radar on the newest cars) is a bit baffling. I would think Elon would be pro redundancy given his space involvement.

Not entirely true.  Toyotas on the NASCAR circuit ultimately end up with bumper cover dents.  

That’s why you keep the exhaust clear... which means more than a 2" radius around the exhaust pipe.  It’s a clear path for exhaust to vent safely away from the vehicle.  Which can mean a lot of different things depending on the situation.

I worked there from 1999-2002 and it was an amusingly-disjointed building to work in. The route from Point A to Point B often took you through Points C, D, E, F, and G.

This facility was most recently used by DaimlerChrysler as JTE (Jeep Truck Engineering). Kind of cool that Jeeps were engineered there for a LONG time, under both AMC and Chrysler (then DaimlerChrysler).
