As a books and game fan a lot of that jumbled dialogue gives a lot of hints of what the series may entail and if its what I think it is, I suggest giving it a second chance.
Like basically all of the sorceresses in the Witcher series, Yennefer’s beauty is either an illusion or the result of spells. Many of them originally suffered from birth defects (canonically, Yennefer is a hunchback). I’m guess we’re seeing her early in her training, when she’s first learning how to harness magic.
