Would love to see stats on min/max/median miles driven per rental. If, say, 80% of rentals are within range of 1 full charge of a Model 3, that could be pretty dang nifty.

You were test driving it and were being hyper sensitive to how the car was driving. Imagine if you’d owned it for a while and were doing a normal daily commute; you think you’d be quite as quick to react? Nothing to do with being a moron, it’s called being human.

Ours was green. Green everywhere. Green paint, green vinyl seats, green dashboard, green rug, green headliner. Green.

The 1970's were brown yellow and orange.

Most cops these days are dying of COVID. They are in the most danger from themselves. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-19-police-officers-leading-cause-death/

I guess the moral here is that when your employees tell you that working conditions are unsafe, you should probably believe them.

There’s more than two, Southern California has Long Beach and Los Angeles. There’s probably a San Diego and there’s a San Francisco. So far that’s probably 4 in California only.

EDIT: Nevermind on San Diego, it’s only new cars delivered there. Also Port of Oakland is in the news they’re offering their services.

Isn’t there a homeless problem in southern California that the Republicans keep talking about?

Nobody is getting paid properly and hasn’t been for decades. The private sector was also supposed to make sure they always had people working. But they’ve found that producing and delivering just enough for the people in our society willing to pay extra, while also destroying their workforce, will work out.

Hire Truckers? There isn’t a driver shortage because they can’t get around to hiring them, there’s a driver shortage because it pays shit money, it’s a really tough/dirty job, and no one wants to do it.

they also have bullshit like not getting paid while waiting for hours in line to pick up a load at both those damn ports in california. all those infrastructure bills a certain group keeps shooting down have money to update our ports so theyre not damn near last in efficiency in the world.

The problem with trucking is twofold:

The punishment is too light, but this is probably not too far from the mark. We do make a distinction for juveniles and there has to be a line at some point between the two, even if everyone here thinks 17 is too old, and it’s definitely manslaughter, and not “what basically amounts to murder, as the author put it.

I don’t know who you’re talking about, but this GenX-er (and everyone she knows) has always known that Blazing Saddles is a work of satirical genius.

I mean, Rob basically says “nobody makes adult dramas anymore” in the same sentence that he mentions “Nomadland.” I guess times have changed a lot in the last 11 months.

All in the Family was a groundbreaking comedy. We could laugh at people with different views while learning things about society. The kiss from Sammy Davis Jr. is gold.

It’s a pretty mixed bag when it comes to fleet vehicles. I work for a local government and I feel it comes down to if a vehicle is assigned to someone or if there’s a pool that is open to every employee. I treat my assigned vehicle pretty much the same as my personal vehicle (clean inside/out, minimal abuse) and I bet

The difference with a rental car is that maybe only half are abused. Many (if not most) people get very timid when they are driving a car that isn’t theirs and that they aren’t used to and drive slower and more cautious.

Back in the day our local smokies had first crack to buy their old car (after decommissioning of course). Those were some of the best kept police cruisers you’ve ever seen.

I called it LaQuah for so long before actually hearing someone else say “Lecroy” in person (and have others confirm that’s how they say it), that now I’m stuck with the French pronunciation and I can’t make my brain switch. So now I drink Perrier...problem solved!
