That’s a complete oxymoron. ‘First world nations’ originally referred to those states that aligned with the U.S. over Russia and its allies during the Cold War; those aligned with the latter were called the ‘second world’ and unaligned states the ‘third world.’ The U.S. was a first world nation by definition.
