So much of this show is about power dynamics, and it's interesting to see Hopkins and Knudsen play off each other in that respect.

Slow pace doesn't even bother me. In fact, I think it's probably necessary with the kind of story they're telling. If they're going to bring everything together a couple (a few?) seasons in with some grand flourishing arc, then I'm happy for them to lay all the threads out neatly and precisely.

She is so good. And fuck, that accent. The way she spat out "fucking reprobates" in the first episode is still rattling around in my head.

They could've ended the season with the Dolores fly swat, and spent the next season building up to where we are now. But they're not, and that's great, because it seems to indicate that they have a story they want to tell and they want to tell it concisely. I'm not sure how this becoming sentient storyline could last

Wasn't exactly an uproarious episode, but it's nice to watch a show where I genuinely care about the characters, which is more than I can say about… American Horror Story? (low bar).

Excited for this. Sounds somewhat comparable to Louie, with maybe a little less absurdism? Regardless, I'm just as excited (and hopeful) for this as S3 of You're The Worst.

Well that's a downer. Not that I'm looking for a feel-good flick in this one, but I think The Babadook struck a good note staying true to a depiction of ongoing, latent grief (the Babadook remains in the basement), while also learning to move on (it's weakened and tamed). I think we're getting somewhere productive

Can't believe free will was finally dethroned as first place titleholder!
