There doesn’t appear to be a mechanism in place to inform anyone why they’re banned or who did it. The only thing it does is that it prevents you from commenting on that particular site, or some of the sub-blogs like io9 is still considered independent so they have control over who gets banned on theirs.

Part of it is that quite alot of them were banned from Jez. Sometimes with no explanation, or because as some explained they tried to be critical of an article, which the author banned them for. Besides isn’t it a rite of passage for us commentators to just have an irrational hate of a particular site here? I don’t…
