I made the mistake of watching the Rifftrax version first. Its a genuinely creepy flick.

BTW, the gorgeous comics were a better sequel.

Some of the Thing reveals are scripted. You can test a person and then immediately trigger the scripted them changing into the Thing. Kinda killed the whole "you're responsible for what happens" appeal.
