Remember back when Valve and Sony collaborated to bring Steam to PlayStation 3? I wonder what ever happened to that.

That was just a concept trailer, not gameplay footage like the article’s talking about. And CD Projekt’s been upfront since the beginning that their priority was shipping The Witcher 3, not bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to the forefront. Once TW3’s out I’m pretty sure we’ll start seeing more of Cyberpunk.
So there are good reasons for Valve to have power, assuming they use it correctly. Right now, however, it sure doesn’t seem like they are. That said, nobody’s ever done anything like this before, so props to Valve for diving headlong into the fire, even if it means getting burned. There were bound to be issues,…
I think they’re trying to avoid how hard the first game leaned towards stealth when in theory you were supposed to be able to choose between stealth or combat mechanics. By amping up the combat aspect of the game they make it more appealing/viable, although it’s possible they’ll overcompensate.
It can be a bit hard to get used to the 3D movement at first, but the tutorial goes a long way towards that and the remastered version of Homeworld uses the simpler interface of Homeworld 2 to make things even easier. I imagine it should take you a couple of hours to get the hang of it but after that you should be…
It's true that lots of countries (Japan included) have pretty ethnocentric biases in their casting, but the U.S. gets less of a pass though given that more than a third of its population is of non-white or white Hispanic ancestry. And California, Hollywood's home state only counts 39% of its population as non-Hispanic…
So someone actually made New Cap City?
I think Kojima believes Kojima actually.
Ah no Misato, Rei, Asuka, or Ritsuko? Bah humbug. The female characters of Evangelion are one of its best parts!
In Japan, anime just means animation. Family Guy, Toy Story, and Looney Tunes are all anime, just as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Moon, and Tatami Galaxy are. In the West, however, the word usually means Japanese animation specifically. Or sometimes that plus non-Japanese animation that consciously evokes Japanese…
Well, good for him. Don't get me wrong, I love Jon Stewart and The Daily Show (even if I don't watch it as much as I used to) but he's been doing it for close to twenty years now. Almost anybody would want to stretch their legs at that point and it's clear he's interested in getting involved in more "serious" work…
I have problems with Steam (though I still enjoy making use of it) but quality control certainly isn't one of them. Indeed, it seems like kind of a weird complaint to make. Valve doesn't make the games, they just sell them. That's like complaining that Target sells Aliens: Colonial Marines alongside Dragon Age:…
You know, it's funny. Just the other day I was a thinking that if I were gay I'd totally have a crush on Dorian. As it is I think I'll probably swing toward Cassandra but Dorian's quite the charmer.
One thing that I did notice is that Rebels/Republic/Alliance still aren't using closed helmets in their starfighters.! Come on guys, you're fighting in space. How hard is it to make a pressurized flight suit! Even our own (planet-stranded) air force has them!
Actually, to a certain extent it makes sense.
So... let me get this straight. Saying men are "naturally" violent and more prone to destructive behavior than women demonizes men less than saying men are violent in our society because our culture teaches them masculinity means being aggressive and emotionally repressed?
That sounds like a great idea to me, personally. But then I'm one of those sci-fi aficionados who doesn't think religion's going to go away in the next century or so.
I love Sleeping Dogs. I was never really able to get into the GTA series (despite really liking Red Dead Redemption) but this game really hit it off with me and I really enjoyed how it took a look at modern culture and organized crime through a non-American lens and in a way that didn't really feel stereotypical or…
Homeworld 2 was a little better (gameplay-wise) in that regard. Traveling in 3D was much less cumbersome there than in Homeworld or Cataclysm. That being said, your point remains valid: every game in the series did have an invisible 2D plane your fleets defaulted to. The singleplayer map design in particular was…
I agree that it looks a little too clean, but I appreciate they're trying to find a middle ground between updating the graphics and retaining the original look. At the very least it looks not altogether different from the cinematic art in Homeworld 2, which took a similar direction. It'll be easier to make a full…
