I never played any Civ games before Civilization III but as I recall, crossing the north pole actually just sends you to somewhere equally far north but a bit to the east or west, so I think it's still a sphere.

He's been thinking about retiring since Princess Mononoke, which was 15 years ago (it, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle were all supposedly his last films). My guess is that he just feels he can't bother waiting for a suitable replacement anymore (or he feels that he has already found one).

I love The Witcher and will buy The Witcher 3. But it honestly looked a bit like The Witcher 2 with horses. MGSV looked like a major jump forward for the series, comparatively.
