Shortages of bus drivers around the country are being exacerbated by dipshit anti-vaxxers who would rather spread deadly diseases to children than be told what to do.  The drivers are bigger babies than the literal children they’re responsible for.  So I guess it’s good they quit/got fired, because nobody that

It’s gotta be driving for Haas.

A recent report from the Guardian discusses the damage that SpaceX is causing to the ecosystems around its Boca Chica launch site, and I encourage you to read it. While NASA’s weather satellites don’t launch from South Texas...

I fail to understand how using federal incentives to encourage adoption EV - to pursue the goal of reduced emissions - has anything to do with union labor.

And on the flip side; US unions and their crusade against universal healthcare have cost us how many thousands of factory jobs?

Unions are a joke compared to 100 years ago. Many are as corrupt as the industries they represent.

NUMMI is a great example of why Toyota avoids unions. They got one plant to achieve not-horrible quality using union labor in the US, but only after all the unionized employees fought against the changes and ended up quitting. GM execs had a front row seat to see Toyota’s manufacturing process and tried to spread it

I’d argue that if they are willing to steal money from the union workers and spend it on themselves and others inappropriately then they truly don’t care. But I guess maybe they care a little, just not enough to not steal their money.

I can’t speak for Toyota facilities, but I have worked for two big players in aerospace. One with a very strong union (in fact it’s the Canadian UAW, Unifor) and one without. Both companies need the exact same talent set in their shops.

Raph’s comment “Maybe they should unionize! Seems like a win-win.”

Yeah, and the pure as the driven snow UAW just sat idly by, not spending a single dime to try to unionize these shops, all while the poor, dumb, stupid workers didn’t know what to do when it came time to vote because they’re too dumb and stupid so they just threw up their arms and voted no.

There are plenty of examples without big manufacturer’s help that have shown the negative side of unionization as well.

I think I’d rather see progress banning idle legislators rather than continuing to push for more idle banning legislature.

Jalopnik: “Ban cars to save the planet!
Also Jalopnik: “Buy some cheap Chinese garbage, pollute the planet!”

Yes, we live in an era in which feeling righteous and scoring points against the other side is far more important than taking meaningful action.

I don't think I have ever seen a completed Cobra replica for $25k.

Someone here was completely clueless about the tech behind batteries and motors, a motor sized for a constant amount of ‘x’ power can generally develop burst ratings 2-4x higher than that for short periods given enough cooling, a bigger motor means more regenerative braking, for smaller brakes, not vice versa, a

I’ve got a Scottish friend that makes sure he always wears a kilt in the traditional fashion whenever he flies over here in the states. He always opts for the patdown, more than once he’s just been waived through without being patted down. The TSA are just cowards who like to pick on weak targets.

That TSA agent should be arrested for attempted rape or sexual abuse of a minor.
