it’s shocking to me that they didn’t do before and afters, it’s twice the clicks!

So Jalopnik really out here making us all resort to google to see the before and afters, huh.
Why a $25,000 Tesla will never come: because people are climbing over each other to pay $50,000 instead.
You can buy a new Grand Cherokee for $38k. This is a high trim version with a high price powertrain. It’s not super clear what the base 4xe trim compares to, but it does start with leather, so probably the Limited. The 4xe is basically an $11k option on the Trailhawk though.
Eh, I’d pay the extra cost for PHEV. 25 miles doesn’t sound like much, but it covers my entire commute and solves the issue of range anxiety with a full EV. People often pay that much extra for a diesel engine option. A large onboard inverter like the F150 Hybrid would make the extra cost a no brainer.
Want to bet the margins on this are higher than the margins on most of their non-4xe models?
And yet, PHEVs are “a thing” and seem to be selling quite well. They’re charging more because the people buying them are generally getting the tax credit, which helps offset the increased price and they’re supply limited at the moment. As the tax credits expire, and supply increases, they’ll move to lower trims.
Do I have news for you about car prices.
The rule was DT was not allowed to recommend any Jeeps. Period.
I thought DT was banned from recommending Jeeps?
I think there is a clause against him recommending Jeeps.
Lexus ES Hybrid, Lexus GX or RX
These guys absolutely don’t care that the Challenger is not crushing ring times or able to keep up with a Mustang GT or Camaro SS on a twisty road. They do like knowing they can roast the tires and still have a stylish comfortable daily driver with a somewhat usable back seat.
I’ve also seen plenty of people my age (mid-late 20s) who love Challengers, including some of the fellow nerds and software engineers with whom I work. It’s just a charismatic car, and it’s almost an anti-statement to other performance cars, because it refuses to compete on their playing field.
It’s also a more accommodating four-seater than the Mustang and Camaro. It really is the last two-door sedan.
Challenger is not a pony car, and never has been. It's always strictly been a Muscle car. Camaro and Mustangs are pony cars.
The thing with Challengers is the owners REALLY like them. It’s kind of the Tommy Bahama of cars.
If you sit inside all 3, mustang, camaro, challenger, the latter easily has the nicest interior too. (it’s certainly the largest and most spacious but that’s probably because it’s a full size sedan with just 2 doors on it lol).
They’d prefer you buy the Trackhawk, Durango Hellcat, or TRX in that case.
