The best thing about is that they used the hatch instead of the sedan. Even better that they didn't start with the SVT so its even more low key. The only thing that could have been done different to make it even more awesome would have been to start with the wagon.

What I have heard/read is that it's a deliberate trick to get people to focus less on the model and more on the brand. Generic non-Jalops don't have a clue what you mean if you say you have a Z4 sDrive28i; but they DO know that "I have a BMW" equals "oooh, fancy."
