Goodness that machine looks, sounds, and probably smells wonderfully beautiful.
She's glorious!
Bravo on the list, though I would have shoehorned in a Mitsubishi there somewhere in place of maybe the Mazdaspeed6 (though I like it's uniqueness). And as a Subaru flag bearer, I'm totally cool with them not being included so that the Saab 92 Aero gets some well deserved shine.
Nice!
While these were certainly before my time, they were more than worth my weekend.
I like the cut of your jib.
This!
I'm actually liking this quite a bit.
~sniff~
Those god awful door handles! I love MK1 and MK2's, easy to work on and always fun to drive any which way you want. I miss my '91 Calypso blue-on-blue Wolfsburg Jetta, and always keep an eye out for these and Jetta coupes whenever they pop up.
M. Rossi must have taken that race off.
And the Krogan that will eventually come to conquer our planet will forever celebrate the sustenance and many wonders that come from Lake Corolla.
I perused the used market for one of these about a year ago. Did they all come with that VW auto-manual DSG, as opposed to a natural manual transmission? That was the only thing that concerned me about the car, though I imagine it's still a fun little thing to push around.
These SR-71 stories are always my favorite things to read and discover on Jalopnik
Lol sadly I'm not even sure if those Legacies offer manual anymore. I too am eagerly anticipating the new RS, and the fun you'll have in one of those will more than make up for towing capacity.
When not Miata, isn't the answer always Legacy GT Wagon?
This is a good death. I beat up my old DD rally crossing and enjoying it recklessly for quite a bit, though after replacing the second transmission, bushings, arms, axles, and suspension bits, it was time.
