It did not originate on Buffy. It was just reintroduced to pop culture there. ;)

Fanservice or not, the FitzSimmons wedding was the real tearjerker moment for me. They are the heart and soul of the show, and while I could have done without the explicit confirmation that Deke is their grandson, it was a welcome injection of pure happiness for just a couple of minutes.
Ya know, this is one of the bigger issues I have with the show: that it’s never going anywhere bigger. I mean it’s what, 2, 3, 6 years after the events of season 1? And no one has tried to restore power? Get the government running again? Reopen factories/airports/commerce/industry/military/nothing?? It cant be “roving…
The most visually impressive episode this season, maybe ever...? I particularly liked how, right at the end, the bomb is clearly in the process of going off and so everyone who’s frozen in time is slightly tipped back, as if from the force of the blast. A very nice touch. Also, the completely unnecessary but still…
“Don’t let Caity die.” Dammit, the feels.
Killer Frost asking Barry to not let Caitlin die seems like confirmation that Caitlin has dissociative personality disorder and KF is her protector personality.
This was easily a Top 5 episode for me. Yes, the fact that Barry can do THIS much in under ten seconds makes it utterly ridiculous that he can’t instantly stop every villain moving at normal speed. But that’s not a new problem; it’s an inconsistency that’s plagued the show since the start. We’ve seen Barry from this…
I’d actually give this one an A. The techno-babble didn’t bother me. The formula provided a great little vignette with each character. Frost had a moment. The shoot out was scary at the beginning. Jessie Quick looked great - girl has grown into the role. I was impressed. One of if not the best of the season.
Barry, when people say “don’t time travel” they mean “don’t do it cause you’re emo and wanna change 20+ years of history on a whim.” It’s ok when it involves a nuclear holocaust where literally any negative consequence is better than the original outcome.
I was stunned by the continuing quality of this show. The Maia scenes were so beautiful, and the opening theme is as hilarious as ever.
I always enjoy when this show (and its predecessor) play with memory and perception. The way the faked recording colored Maia’s memories of her tennis coach reminded me a lot of “The Decision Tree”, particularly how Will’s anger clouded his recollections of Alicia.
The way the Good Fight handles the Maia flashbacks is fascinating and a lot closer to real memories than almost any other shows. It is also a really good story beat as we see how even she herself is constantly doubting her own memories, which is at the core of her current legal battle.
Something I really liked, and showed why this is such a good series, was the way were introduced to Liz and why she quit being an AUSA. While there was something admirable about Liz’s principles and wanting to be open about them, I thought it was a great detail that the reason she left wasn’t because of some form of…
The Obama library isn’t one of the top clients at the firm. The middleman for the Obamas was a good friend of Diane, and the firm assumed that the library would be a shoo-in for them. That’s why they had bragged for five months about getting it to their other clients, and why it would be very embarrassing for their…
Because it’s just so fun, let’s go over the scenario, shall we?
I stop bad fires with bigger good fires.
This incredibly dumb metaphor only works if every fire in America were started by fire extinguishers.
Me at least appreciate that Willis here immediately drills down to core of argument. At one point, me deliberately engaged gun enthusiasts on Twitter, to try and understand argument. And me found in nearly every instance, their arguments crumble pretty quickly if you (irony!) stand your ground.
Yes. I’m afraid of fire. Why wouldn’t I be? It’s a scary thing.
Uh, yeah dude. I am afraid of fire. That’s exactly why I have an extinguisher, to help prevent myself from being killed by it. Are you NOT afraid of fire? Are you dumb?
