One thing that I think is that McConnell probably could have muscled his majority into staying in line on Garland, and I absolutely think the one body of Congress should get to vote on SCOTUS nominations, and if they vote down a nomination that’s it, it’s over.

I think it’s unavoidable for the court to be political the question is how should that be structured. A lot of the reforms proposed don’t create a sustainable framework. Adding 5 justices is just encouraging an arms race that ends with a ludicrous result.

As someone who will watch a show even if the online critic types don’t like it for whatever reason if I enjoy it ... it just wasn’t that compelling. As a drama it was weak. The plot wasn’t super compelling. Frankly they should have done it as a black comedy.

I feel like we’ve all come to expect jank in big, open world games.

Let the game come out first guys.  If you don’t want to spend money on it, watch someone stream the opening few hours.  In the immortal words of Steve Jobs ... “Not that big a deal”.

the senator has enough scandals on her hands

World’s blandest entertainer peddles world’s blandest coffee.

After they’ve spent so much money preparing to take advantage of the insanely valuable marketing opportunity that politicians like Pressley are willing to hand them with questions like this?

Not even close. You think you’re being cynical about the Banks but you’re not being cynical enough.

The lock behind bit is what I want to know too, though I’ll be less concerned about it if the gameplay makes it so I’m less apt to want to start over if I want to change my playstyle. Like in Skyrim, there’s a lot of content and you can sort of migrate between playstyles of warrior/mage/thief/archer etc., but there’s

“Ugh ... no”

I think a lot of the old trilogy fans also think the sequels ultimately were weak. I’ll be the first to say that while saying that the prequels were made for kids which made it harder for those of us who were older fans to really get into the creative offshoots from them.

it seems clear to me that the Sequel Trilogy is being slowly boxed away into “this crazy couple of weeks in a corner of the Outer Rim” that no one is ever going to directly talk about again.

Diehards indeed.

The question I have is whether this means we’re in for another round of UI/UX developers screaming futilely into the void of the internet that “I MATTER, WHAT I DO IS IMPORTANT!” because a game from a company that doesn’t care very much about that end of the game is a critical darling yet again.

If you’re buying tickets from Billy McFarland for Fyre Festival II ... You deserve whatever dumb shit befalls you as a result and honestly giving a grifter your money is probably a better result for society and our economy than whatever dumb shit you would have spent it on in the first place.

I’ll grant that as a more mundane (and thus very plausible) possibility.

Granted, we don’t have a ton of legitimate evidence of what really went down, but the narrative that Sam may have preferred Britney’s lifestyle before the conservatorship fell checks out. With a conservatorship still intact, Sam would have less of a direct caretaking role and more of the shiny benefits of existing as

That line could have been an opportunity for men to, albeit, in a ridiculous context, better understand themselves as part of global violence against women, and for women to be warned of the dangerous allure of accepting patriarchal
