Too bad this guy is a Nebraska state senator instead of someone running for a really important seat in a toss up state a la Todd Akin.  

This is the discussion that would be much more interesting to see play out than ongoing culture war bullshit surrounding Bud Light and now Maybelline I guess.

You’re dealing purely in hypotheticals.  Banks are regulated in this little world that the United States Treasury likes to call reality.  

I mean yeah disrupting a legislature trying to go about it’s business is just that, insurrection. I’m sure if they could build a mob large enough to completely overwhelm the Montana state legislature they happily would.

It can be but a part of the problem is that

Exactly! Look at Arizona’s other senator. Mark Kelly is hardly a firebrand progressive but he’s basically been a mainstream Democrat since he joined and he’s doing just fine given the same electoral incentives.  It’s really a head scratcher.  

I’m skeptical she has those connections though, not anymore.

Apparently he was prepping a slate of material tonight trying to clear his name that might have pushed back against the settlement, he was told to change it and he quit.

Except she does! She spent a decade in the House before this!

Yeah but the thing is that’s not a better gig than, you know, being a senator.
