I feel you're reading way too hard into this. The only thing she doesn't have is her own collage artwork on her profile - which she shares with Robin's. The reason Newcomers have the larger image is because they have the artwork previewing in it (or in Mii Fighter's case, three renders).

Yo all I know is I was hyped as hell for this trailer and I don't even know who either of the newcomers are. It takes a lot for something to make me excited like that about something that I've never heard of before. It was just a great trailer. Thanks, Nintendo.

This isn't a hoax. A guy saw something that scared him and defied his logic. Unless he had at any point confessed that he knew the "monster" was a dude in a suit (I don't see that here), nobody perpetrated a hoax.
