Dropping their 50-year crusade against women’s health would leave the Republican base with no reason to care, and Republican candidates no way to raise money from the Christianist rubes. So “death penalty for gynecologists” and other “we’ll be tougher than tough” fundraising is all they have.

This is premised on the idea that Republicans still need popular support to win elections to remain in power.

I have (had) SO many questions about this incident.

Why...are the parents not being investigated/sued? I mean, I know they said they practiced responsible gun ownership and the weapon was secured, etc., but, SOMEHOW the toddler (TODDLER) got past all that security, got his hands on the weapon and brought it to school.

Any reason none of these posts actually say what the nature of the “prank” was?
