Yes, the eyes. Exactly. I wasn’t so fazed when he got his implants. I’m more fazed by how his face work has made him I dunno... gaunt? His face has lost a lot of character. I think he’ll look better after a few more years.

I’m honestly not a fan of Joe Biden’s new face, but if he did it for himself then good on ‘im.

Find something new!

Ugh. So much this. Very much a pet peeve of mine, but when I spot someone and point out that their mask has slipped (it’s the most charitable way to point out the problem) I am usually met with dismissiveness and sometimes yelling. You can’t do anything with these people, I believe.

Yeah! Exactamundo!

I found this article to have a very interesting perspective:

Pretty sure I saw a story about some DA investigating bribery charges for Bloomberg... so right now?

I acknowledge that there may be some spin, but the point remains that PPE has not been sufficiently prioritized since this whole craptastic pandemic landed here. My sister’s an NP in Houston and she’s had to wear the same N95s for sometimes as long as 2 weeks. It’s nauseating.

As bad as he was, I do believe that he has a soul, or at least shame. The man can cry, after all:

I think we ought to make voting mandatory for everyone between 18 and 65, nationwide, and require that there be a “no vote” option in every selection for everyone to select. If you vote you pay nothing. If you don’t vote, you pay a hundred bucks more in federal income taxes. Rich people wouldn’t have to care, but

The mask money thing really REALLY bugs me. We amped up sooo much spending on defense over the past three years — like a royal crap-ton of money. Apparently it’s just too much to ask to get the supply chain for PPE helped just a little bit. Grrr!

The same thing goes for the judicial appointments, too. There is a lot of turnover there. If we get two consecutive democratic presidencies (+senate), and keep up with the pace on filling just the regular vacancies that open up in those 8 years, we can put the balance back.

I turn ‘em on whenever it gets hard to read the license plate in front of me, and I use the wiper speed adjustment to match the amount of water coming down. I also replace my blades pretty frequently, which is usually every other year because a couple of freezing cold winters will usually get to them and make them

My aunt & uncle have a first-year Toureg (gas) with 100K miles. She was bemoaning that they could probably not get $4000 for it. I reassured her that they were more desirable than she knew.

I really hope young people get out and vote. Out of 20 people ages 18-35, less than 4 actually vote. (I think the most ever was 18% back for the GHWB vs. Dukakis contest.) FFS, young folks, vote.

The electoral college is in the constitution. It will require an amendment, which will need to be ratified by state legislatures. That is NOT going to happen in sufficient number for it to come to pass at any time soon. See the ERA. If enough state legislatures can go blue, it might, though. I suppose the only way to

Honestly, I don’t think packing the SCotUS is a good idea for the democratic party. It’s going to start a craptastic judicial arms race where we’ll end up with a 301-person court in a New York minute. The boomerang factor is just too big. The better way would be to hold at nine and keep control over the Senate and

I think Mitt still pines for the White House, myself.

I honestly don’t think there was anything she could say that everyone would find acceptable. She did point out that she listened and was ready to work on herself. The apologies themselves were acceptable. I just got the sense that she was still equivocating a little bit and pushing the whole thing into the past, and
