I think this was probably just a weird tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Yeah I’m not watching it

Never in a million years would I think a game tournament would be the setting of a mass shooting. Something needs to be done.

Incredible costumes, especially that last one. And it’s not a video! Everybody’s happy.

I’ve been waiting for this since the movie marathon. I cannot wait.

Tom Brady got a harsher suspension for supposedly deflated footballs.

Lol I didn’t really think of it that way until now but you’re right, the Big 10 is shady af.

Wow that’s a lot of good movies. Between August and September, their on a roll.

Who actually likes Papa John’s pizza? And out of those that do, how could you like it enough to defend this idiot?

No I was referring to the people who get offended on the behalf of others when someone is misgendered.

I’m pretty sure the joke is making fun of those who get offended when people other than themselves are misgendered. In other words, I’m pretty sure it’s making fun of people who get offended on other people’s behalf.

Exactly. It isn’t funny enough to defend or offensive enough to be outraged by. It’s just... lame.

No, the tweet is lame. The reaction is cringey though.

It’s poking fun at people who showcase the people who make a mockery of the trans community and value the genders of other people way too much?

But the joke is poking fun at those ridiculous people, not the whole trans community.

If a joke like this can cause a PR disaster, we’ve got bigger problems. It was a lame joke that wasn’t at all hateful.

Exactly. There’s nothing even remotely hateful within the tweet. If they said they hated trans people I’d understand, but this isn’t toxic at all.

It’s another James Gunn scenario. Jokes made in jest are completely different than blanketed bigotry.

It doesn’t belittle anyone. Is it a dumb, unfunny joke? Yes. But it’s just poking fun at people who take gender way too seriously.

I’m not quite sure how that could be considered transphobic.
