The other problem with Battlefront 2 is that it’s entire progression system is based on loot boxes regardless of skill. In Angry Joe’s new video his friend gets the most damage and kills on his team multiple times and gets the same amount of experience as the last ranked player:
If your game is fun enough to keep a player base (like Battlefront 2 seems to be), it will sell loot boxes. The player base will evaporate if people get frustrated with the competence advantage from loot boxes.
The minute you place anything non-cosmetic or currency related into a loot box you have done something wrong. It’s beyond unnecessary, as games like Overwatch and Rocket league have made tons of cash off of cosmetic only loot boxes and STILL offer all DLC for free. Those space battles look very nice, I’m liking the other fight scenes we saw as well. Aside from the return of walkers, everything seems to be original.
