Every safety regulation is written in blood, they were the sacrifice.

I remember that horrific accident...I’m your neighbor in Dunedin.
what people are comfortable with and what is actually safe are two separate things. People are also stupid so really what needs to happen is higher ticket enforcement for speeding and more severe punishments.
But, we don’t make laws based on “well, some assholes are gonna ignore it anyway so why bother.”
As much as I agree with the posts about how we should start sentencing these Bank CEOs to prison, fine them 10X what they stole, or straight up chop off their heads, my position in all this:
As I’ve been saying since he first proffered to buy Twitter for a ridiculous sum of money: this was always going to end in tears. Musk was NEVER going to be able earn his money back through either ad sales, subscriptions, blue check marks, etc. and/or reselling Twitter.
So...Musk is following the Donald Trump Method of Not Paying People What They Are Owed. And being a right-wing asshole. Nice.
My bet is on C.
“Parag Agrawal promised employees they were entitled to their paid severance under the Merger Agreement.”
He always made sure the cars and SUVs he nabbed were more than eight years old so he wouldn’t have to provide the Long Island junkyard he towed them to with the vehicle’s title when selling it for scrap,
I’m inclined to agree with the article (can’t argue with facts), but my intuition already tells me that it’s probably a bad idea to raise speed limits on “Busy Urban Corridors,” anyway.
Thanks for the input. I was aware of the thermal management problems (fast charging), but I didn’t realize that would also affect the regenerative braking...which makes sense, regen puts a lot of load back into the battery.
I have a 2019 Nissan Leaf Plus, do yourself a favor and do not buy this vehicle, no thermal management of the battery (reduced range, heat, everything), regenerative braking is not default and is almost impossible to 1 pedal it, the handles on the doors are of poor design, they WILL break, the seat stitching is…
I mean, they could find dozens of million dollar checks made out to cash, endorsed by Clarence, and deposited into his savings account that said “for overturning Roe v Wade” on the memo line and you still probably couldn’t find 17 GOP Senators who would vote to remove him.
In any functioning republic, this revelation would be the end of Thomas’ tenure. But no. We’re not a functioning republic.
There is a world of a difference. E-bikes can go incredibly fast and they accelerate incredibly quickly. Only very experienced and in-shape bike riders can get a normal bike to go fast. None of them can get one to accelerate quickly.
Any punishment that can be easily paid off isn’t punishment, it’s just a cost of business
F’real. They keep getting in trouble for doing illegal shit and the punishment is.... give us 10% of the money you *stole* from your customers and we’ll call it good.
Yawn, another day, another corrupt corporation that should be shut down but isn’t and the average person who got screwed over will never get compensated.
