Aw, I missed this one, I had a good one.

All very good points.

I know, it’s wild that a bunch of people here who on other police shootings know that the report always lies, are saying “well he reached and it was found on the floor!”

While this is definitely a more sympathetic case for the cops than other situations where someone is killed, based on the write up, it sounds like an excessive use of violence by the police. And another example of why cops need better training and hiring policies need to focus on finding people who are able to better

This. I actually DO believe in mostly single-purpose cars, but the only use case I have for an EV is around town and commuting. But I have no commute, and I don’t drive around town enough to justify the costs of an EV. If I did have a daily commute, I probably would have something DIRT cheap, like an eSmart. But $60K+

I’d say the RZ is perfectly suited for the market it’s aimed at.

Maybe it’s just me but I can’t understand the fear of range anxiety. I daily a lifted GX460 with a 9 mile round trip commute. For longer trips we have a gas saving CT200h, but even then the number of times we go longer than 2 hours round trip is a handful of times a year. I imagine majority of commuters are in the

Didn’t actually know the Leaf also had a J1772! That’s good at least. Saw my first Chademo charger recently. I’m sure I’ve been around a few before and just never noticed. Typically only using the Tesla and occasionally J1772 since I went EV a bit under 5 years ago

Except Toyota has probably built more “big battery” cars than anyone else, and is one of the brands closest to making solid state batteries a thing. EVs are all about batteries. Just because they aren’t pumping out $70k BEVs doesn’t mean they are “behind”.

While I appreciate the offer to voluntarily resign with a small bonus versus a mandatory layoff, I agree this is 100% about propping up the stock price by following other major industries who are cutting expenses by eliminating highly paid employees.

The buyouts are being offered to salaried workers in the U.S. who’ve been with the company for five years or more, as well as to global executives with two or more years at the company....If salaried workers in the U.S. opt to take GM up on the offer, they will receive one month’s pay for each year they’ve worked at

The commission is looking to change the law to give passenger trains an exemption from the state’s ban on serving liquor purchased in neighboring states.”

“What if we just eliminated this stupid fucking law altogether?”
“No.”

Yes, it still does chime and turn red on the backup camera

Bring a tugboat.

.....also, ignoring the fact that FSD is continuously killing its owners. Another one just ran into a parked and lit fire truck. The speed was so great it killed the Tesla driver instantly and the Fire Truck was badly damaged.

So they are going to make a car that is cheaper than the Model 3, but bake in “full self driving” which is currently a $15k option for the Model 3? So how bad of a ripoff is FSD today? Ignoring the challenges it has with actually self driving.

Full-Self Driving capabilities has been evolving, it should be obvious that that is the most profound thing [for Elon].”

The more I’ve been thinking and discussing, there really isn’t any type of car that needs to go electric to convince me to buy electric. Generally speaking, by making a particular make/model into an EV variation would simply ruin it in some ways while making it better in other ways.

Well, not quite;

So how low is too low? When my car’s gas light comes on, that’s usually when I’ll start looking for a gas station. In my experience, it’ll run for about 25-30 miles once the light comes on. I’ve only completely run out of gas once and almost did maybe three other times, to the point where it was lurching. But is
