I know we’ve been obsessing about quicker and quicker charging times from public chargers....but despite all of this attention we’ve been giving to DCFC, I really feel like DCFC is a means to an end. Companies and Governments are scrambling to get DCFC across the country, but my prediction is that we probably won’t do

I get the impression it was always supposed to just be something for boomers to cruise around in.

Yea, yea, yea, subjective. But I still don’t feel like getting ripped off.

And for finishers, most people have an absurdly high impression of their driving capabilities at any given time. So nobody should trust the average person’s ability to self-determine a safe - NOT comfortable, but SAFE - driving speed.

Ironically, I was taking a look at the Rav4 Prime earlier today to see what affordable, but family-friendly Plug-in Hybrid I might want to propose for my wife. I’m about to have Solar on my home and I HIGHLY regard PHEVs as the proper way to go if you’re looking for an EV, right now.

There’s nothing to debate, because I don’t disagree.

It’s not “luxury” in the same sense as a Merc or Jag, but modern industrial design can definitely be luxurious; different strokes for different folks.

I agree, I like minimalistic design, but 3 reasons I’ve moved away from it:

Yes, I think it is a premium product that’s not particularly luxurious. However, it is a luxury purchase in that you’re paying a premium for style, and other aesthetics, and not necessarily more utility or practicality. A luxury purchase, to me, is one where you’re making a choice to spend more, so people know you’ve

We agree that the number is on a sign posted on the side of the road. For some, it’s about as useful as a “Ice forms on bridge” sign on a Miami highway.

We’re talking luxury SUV here, be real.

Sure, but there’s 228 million drivers in the US. We don’t really know how many additional non-licensed drivers there are. I can’t imagine if you take the license away from some subset of those 228 million, they’ll all go “well, whatdayagonnado? That’s that. It’s bus life for me!”

I fully agree, Tesla doesn’t make Luxury cars, they make “Luxury Lifestyle” cars. Luxury Lifestyle is more about outward appearance than actual Luxury, often minimalistic and modern.

I question if Nissan is serious about anything. Nissan’s design department has been working overtime, but it seems like their actual R&D department is a ghost town.

Why is it not a full-fledged EV?

Replying to the best answer.  Take us to the top.

This isn’t a training issue. Everyone knows speeding is bad. Some people are just stupid to realize when they’re doing it and others just too selfish to give a shit. Like we all should have learned in elementary school, it ain’t the 20 kids doing what they’re supposed to, it’s the 2 that aren’t that fuck it up for

Damn it, you took the words out of my mouth. I already had “in crashes where speed was a factor” locked and loaded in my Windows clipboard.

Let all the blackberry and flip phone aficionados gripe about large screens that can be configured to show more data than late 90's F1 engineers could only dream of.

I’d buy one used in 10 years.
