Putting aside the obvious reasons to be skeptical that Donald Trump is going to broker a lasting geopolitical detente (and also putting aside the “but they gave it to Obama!” takes)

What really boggles the mind is the following thought experiment:

It’s also true that “good guys” and “bad guys” are mostly-mythical caricatures. Guys who are mostly good can and do behave in horrible ways. Guys who are mostly shitbags can and do behave in lovely ways.

It’s true they haven’t been impressive overall in the series. But they were pretty damn impressive in the 3rd quarter the other night, the series result is not in any serious doubt, and something tells me they’d be a little more dialed in if they were playing the Warriors.

The numbers totally back you up but the eye test makes it even clearer that the Steph-less Warriors are, while good, not anything close on offense to the fearsome terror they are with him. Steph terrifies the defense and everyone else gets great shots. Without him Klay has to work his ass off to get contested jumpers…
