“The first season finale of What We Do In The Shadows have arrived...”
Give them a break, it is only mentioned like 5 times an episode. And it was only the focus of like 2, 3 at most, episodes this year.
Because I cannot abide anyone being wrong on the internet, at least when the subject is a TV show, I must point out that the vampires on “What We Do in the Shadows” live on Staten Island, not Long Island.
Thank you, could not agree more.
I cracked up the most at them taking turns putting the same blanket over each other. Such a great rendition of such a cheesy trope.
I’m in a FB group of super fans for this show. And there is a lot of discussion about whether it was beneficial to bring back Greg with a different actor. I’m torn about the decision. But I gotta say, I’m not really feeling Skylar Astin. So, while this is probably the best outcome for Nathaniel and Rebecca, I still…
I cried at the “June. My name is June. I always wanted to tell you that.” line. This show is so beautiful.
“Delores.
“It was my grandmother’s name!”
I also loved that. For many of us, our names are not our own, not entirely. They are legacies, they speak of our forebears. That legacy was also taken away.
As the first season mainly focussed on June and Moira’s story related to her relationship to June, I don’t think giving her a backstory is a bad thing. However I’d agree it was all a bit sudden - a surrogate pregnancy and girlfriend/fiancée all introduced and tied up in one episode. (I didn’t hear Odette’s name in…
I swear every time I’ve enjoyed or dislike an episode this season the AV club reviewer has a completely opposite reaction. I thought this was an excellent one, probably one of the best this season.
As an editor myself, I cried at the scene with the paper and pen. Because the Handmaids haven’t just lost their families and their freedom. They’ve lost their professions, their accomplishments. There is a very particular pleasure in doing something you’re very good at, something that brings you recognition and…
When the girls were sharing their true names....
Tossing Moira’s never-before-mentioned fiancé made this feel like a middle season of LOST.
The funeral scene was very ritualistic and eerily beautiful, however Aunt Lydia is a piece of work. The dude who was stand-in commander really creeped me out, I honestly felt like he was capable of violent rape that was even separate from the monthly ritual sex. The way that he touched Serena and the way that he…
killed in Vietnam by his own troops
I don’t for one minute believe that young Dylan (and Satchel Ronan for that matter) don’t believe the story they tell. Unfortunately it is just that - a story. Told to them so repeatedly (by a vindictive and duplicitous woman who proved that hell really does have no fury like a woman scorned) they now believe it as an…
It means someone should check his freezer.
My toddlers are really into dinosaurs, so they watch a lot of the Land Before Time movies.

Why are we assuming Jon kills Dany and not the other way around?
