I can totally relate. At Calspeed Karting Center at the Fontana Race Track I’m fast but not really fast. I always blame it on weighing 225 instead of 125. That went out the window when the 285 pound dude from the Porsche Owners Club showed up to practice and lapped me.......on a 3/4 of a mile track......

A really good type 4 engine rebuild is 15-18k a really great one is 21 to 25k

I do feel bad because you don’t truly grasp the fried egg thing which means you probably are not a Porsche guy but simply repeating what you’ve read on the interwebs. The headlights changed for 2001 and up. The Turbo first appeared as a 996 in 2001
The 996 Turbo is still the most beautiful 911 ever made in my mind. Huge hips with FAT tires in the rear and not over stylized like the 997 Turbo. Of course I’d love any 911 but the 996 Turbo is gorgeous to me.

If I could spend 1.3 million on a car and paid Ferrari to maintain and ship it all over the world for me to drive I’d probably be able to afford have a pretty good coach. Remember, smoother is faster. The guys that make it look easy are normally a lot faster than you think.
