I know everyone boast about the raw experience of the air cooled 911’s but shots like this make me very happy for my traction controlled 996 Turbo with ac.

Sounds just like Ortega highway in Orange County, except for the no traffic and perfect asphalt part.......

Trophy Trucks, Class 1, and Class 6 are all fairly unlimited with the exception of forced induction. Forced induction isn’t allowed in Score unless it’s on a Diesel engine and Score is the Baja 1000 promoter. BITD which promotes races in the U.S. Like the Mint 400 does allow it. Rules change though.

How'd you like to be the guy mixing it up with Patrick at Laguna Seca? I'd take all the straight away hp and speed I could get. Holy cow, that would be amazing!

A flash of the headlights and now I GOTCHA!

Looks like the rear shocks have good sized reservoirs.

Top Trophy Truck teams in desert racing figure a minimum of $1000.00 per mile. The Baja 1000=$100,000.00 minimum for that one race and they are for the most part hobby racers. Rember that’s if you encounter no problems, believe me racing off road in Baja is nothing but problems.

This list is invalid without a Porsche 918 on it.

You will see people dive bombing inside and trying to steal the apex and possibly being penalized but maybe not. You won’t see people flying into corners and using the bumper in front of them for their brakes and then accelerating and pushing the car in front of them out of the way. There is a nuance to road racing

A real road course racer who appears to be on better tires would have gone outside not just smash the bumper for a braking point, holding his line and pinching down on the inside car. In the final turn he would have been on the inside and won the race. It’s called thinking ahead and knowing how to race a course with

I have a feeling you haven't watched very many F1 races.

That’s the point, a racer races the style that is used and accepted. NASCAR guys only know smash and bash. The same road course guys would race entirely different in a Tudor series race because they are road course guys and posses the skill to race without flying into a corner and using the guys bumper in front of

For road racing that would be a no-no but for 3500 pound stock cars pretending to road race it’s a pretty minimal infraction. Real Road racers would have gone outside (Dillon seems to be on much better tires) and then been inside on the next turn to take the win. NASCAR guys just know bang, smash, and what are you

See, what'd I tell ya, looks just like my 996 Turbo!

Excessive speed on entry coupled with attempting to early apex is a bad combo. I think these guys would do well to get some driving lessons on a course from a qualified instructor. Even if in a car at least they would learn something about proper lines.

The GT1 debuted in 1996 and the 996 debuted in 1999 I just figured that my 2002 turbo was a descendant of the earlier car????

I’m proud of my 996 Turbo since her engine and headlights came from the Carrera GT1

Yes, but this is where they found their headlights. I’m proud of my Turbos big brother the Carrera GT1.
