That’s actually in the Playback settings under video - by default new versions of Kodi have a delay on the skips so you can change the skip amount. I changed it to 250 ms and it’s much better, no pauses on my pi 2.

Ah, I’d never looked into it and didn’t realize power over Ethernet uses an adapter to split the power from the data normally. In that case I suppose it should be fairly easy to take an existing power over Ethernet system and hack a transformer and micro USB cable onto the adapter.

Ifind the biggest advantage of Kodi is that you only need one low powered machine to run it. If you don't already have a powerful always-on computer, you can run Kodi off a Raspberry pi no problem. Plex needs something a lot more powerful for all that transcoding.
