I think the one thing this show does right and keeps me watching is that the actors behind Eph, Dutch, and, especially, Fet all have a lot of charisma and are fun to watch. The plotting is not good, but it doesn't get in the way of that and that's good enough.

Plus it's his excuse for not being an oathbreaker/deserter

> In Alien, we are only given a glimpse of the Space Jockey, and it's such a weird looking thing. It's so inhuman.

I could write a thousand best-sellers on how terrible Ayaan Hirsi Ali is and it wouldn't do a hundred of the damage to the reformists' cause as Trump's travel ban did, or a millionth of the damage the Iraq War did.

"[I believe] that wherever we can feasibly stop the abuse of women and girls, we should. An ability to do this in places like Afghanistan, and throughout the world, would be one of the benefits of having a global civil society and a genuine regime of international law. Needless to say, this is not the world we are

Do you really think that reformist/moderate Muslims in the Middle East want or need the help of Bill Maher and Sam Harris? Or that "liberals providing cover" is a meaningful problem or barrier to them? Get real.

The thing that I hate about Maher and Harris and every other person taking an edgy-debate-club approach to Islam is: so what? What's your agenda, what's to be done?

I blame country music. And I'm only sort of kidding.

I don't buy the Donald the Dove routine for a microsecond. There's no good reason to think he would have voted any differently than HRC on Iraq had he had the opportunity, and dozens to think he would have voted the same.

You make some important points about how terrible HRC is, but Trump remains the bad guy—unless you think he'd be less likely to keep Gitmo open, crack down on immigrants, and kill and abuse people overseas.

I reserve my right to make snarky political commentary that no one will listen to based on having watched a pirated version of the movie, thank you much

Billie Holiday was such a poser

Hopefully. I think HRC could take a punch, and Trump losing control on live TV (which is easy to imagine—he doesn't seem to be able to handle anything other than obsequiousness coming from a woman) is the easiest, most reliable path to a Trump defeat.
