I have 5 Shields in my house and lived with this nonsense for a few days but nope....I’m done with it now. 3 of them are already disconnected, with the other 2 soon to follow.

I’m not sure how you could have possibly missed it if you were playing from launch. At launch the game was a complete mess, with constant crashes, freezes, and too many bugs to list here. It was so bad that DICE had to issue a public mea culpa for the state of the game. EA eventually had to step in and announce that

I’ve been playing this on Xbox again and I forgot how low the resolution is. It looks like complete ass at 720p with no AA to speak of, but I have to admit that with the addition of 120Hz it plays like a dream.

Fuck that. Unvaccinated maskholes have demonstrated over and over that given the opportunity they are never going to adhere to the guidelines and these chains are enabling them. I’m not rewarding this nonsense with my dollars, I’ll simply wait for streaming and physical media releases and watch at home.

Agreed, although I don’t think that you even need to go that far. Even a basic soundbar will blow the doors off of most tv’s speakers.

The key words here are “steep for some folks”.

75.6" and you need a buffer to ensure it doesn’t accidentally come crashing down so I tacked on an extra 2 inches on each side for the sake of having at least a tiny sliver of wiggle room. Take a look at the design of the legs. I promise there is method to my madness.

Plenty of people are going to use the tv speakers and I feel bad for them, but to each their own.

Agreed. It’s just piss poor planning on TCL’s part if the goal is to sell as many of these as possible. They’re still going to sell a shitload of them but they are definitely leaving money on the table.

It’s meant to go on a stand. Which is ridiculous because with those legs all the way at the edges of the tv the furniture will need to be at least 80" wide.

I agree completely. I came to say just this and am pleased to see someone beat me to the punch.

I’m not a snob about the games themselves, but I am most definitely a snob about the hardware I use. I generally won’t even bother unless I’m playing on top shelf equipment. This goes for both the gaming gear itself as well as the AV gear it’s hooked up to. I’m simply unsatisfied with anything less than the best

I wouldn’t like it, but I’d bite the bullet. I have FAR to much invested in my Harmony remotes to even consider voluntarily scrapping them and I am NEVER going back to piles of remotes all over the place, full stop.

If you can’t find a single compelling thing to play on any one of the major consoles there are only 2 possible conclusions: either you are an ultra die hard fanboy or you simply don’t want to find anything to play.

Not really my kind of thing but I'm not gonna lie...that looks better than I expected it to.

Do you remember at the launch of last gen when Sony mocked Microsoft by showing how easy it was to share games by handing a disc to a friend? It’s kind of on that level. No uninstalling/reinstalling is required. The uploading, downloading, version transitioning, etc. of updates all happen under the hood you pretty

My Vive Pro doesn’t rely on onboard processing and is wireless, but I had to purchase a $300 wireless adapter on top of what was already an expensive setup in order to gain that functionality.

That sounds amazing but you’re going to be waiting a looooong time for that dream to become a reality.

Ahhhhh, what you are talking about is called CEC (consumer electronics control) and this makes waaaaaay more sense now, and while they are separate technologies TV manufacturers often tie them together. Your game consoles definitely do this but PC’s rarely utilize CEC.

Just a bit of clarification since you made this argument twice...
