It's a pretty slick custom job. I don't have the address handy but the guy that built it has an online picture album that gives a fair amount of detail on it.

I'm not sure that a study is even necessary. This is an extensively studied subset of cognitive science called cognitive bias (particularly choice-selective bias and confirmation bias). It's been fairly well documented over the years.
I'm not sure that I buy the argument that wealth and cultural enlightenment necessarily go hand in hand.
Perceived value is just that. I think the versatility of it is worth every penny, but to each their own.
I got mine from extreme-mods.com via amazon.com
The differences are mostly minor. The xbox one has rumble triggers but otherwise it pretty much boils down to ergonomics.
I saw the headline and hoped that this would be about a wireless solution. You've been able to do this wired with a hardware adapter for months now.
User eXperience.
I have Windows 8.1 on my laptop and I despise it, though I have made it useable by banishing the schizophrenic nightmare that is the Metro desktop via Start8. I will certainly not install it on my desktop under any circumstances.
It's more than just a driver, you also need a wireless receiver. If the haptic triggers are what you are after I believe you will also need games coded with that feature in mind.
I'm not quite sure what it is about desiring integration that people aren't quite grasping here. It's almost comical.
Thanks I am aware of Play To. While it works this is not an elegant or optimal solution.
He's asking for local streaming. Local, integrated streaming, without the need for other devices to facilitate the process. I'm not sure it's asking for too much in this day and age on a device that has ambitions to take over the entire entertainment experience in your living room.
No problem. And to be honest it has kind of sucked for the last few months. While these features are there (albeit poorly realized) there ARE basic features/functions that are missing that pretty much leave you scratching your head once you realize it. We're all hoping that this update addresses most if not all of…
Not everyone wants or needs the customization features. It gives everyone access to basic streaming and for the vast majority of people that's plenty good enough. For those that do desire more options/flexibility there are methods to achieve that (even if you have to pay to play) as you yourself pointed out.
Not exactly sure what you mean by that. Are you saying that you don't have the update that included the battery indicator?
Both of those features are there, it just that their implementation was poorly thought out.
This. Possibly this would be OK for a 10 pound barking rat, but there is no way in hell I would ever trust this to secure either of my Labs.
Based on the specs and assuming that Maingear has left them accessible you would be able to upgrade the RAM (most likely low voltage DDR3) and the HDD's (mSATA for the primaries and a standard notebook drive for the secondary. The CPU wouldn't be upgradeable...the 4700HQ is a soldered solution. It's impossible to…
The type of heavy gaming that is typically done on a laptop like this isn't meant to be done on battery power.
