No argument here, I pretty much agree with all of this. The US as a nation is shockingly ass-backwards regarding it's financial priorities.

Except that's not how Sweden's system works at all. Sweden's system is impressive but do you understand that in order to achieve that Sweden has the highest tax rate in the world and also one of the flattest tax systems where even the lowest paid workers pay over 50% of their earnings in taxes and 25% VAT? The only

Maternity leave is an issue that effects all economic classes, yet by your statement it would be OK to put the entire burden of financing it onto the shoulders of the 1%? You think this is sustainable given the number of children born in the US every year?

And...who pays for all of this exactly?

It may have been a little heartless, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it completely douchey. It raises the completely valid and realistic argument that if you already aren't in a financial position to handle common situations such as a job layoff having a child may not be the wisest course of action ATM. It has

It's probably being pedantic, but I get super annoyed at people who make the error of calling a magazine a clip. It's not a clip. It's a magazine. They are not one and the same.

I don't know that they're necessarily equivalent. I have no fear of guns, but I wouldn't say I have no fear of death. Quite the opposite actually.

Ready was a racist, a bigot, an extremist, and an all around disgusting nut job. But from what I remember of him he wasn't chasing down neighbors with guns for trying to find out where he lived. Correct me if I'm wrong, but before murdering his girlfriend and friends wasn't his special little beef with chasing down

Anyone who is afraid of guns should never have one in their possession, period. Handling a weapon requires a certain level of coolness under pressure and fearing your gun is just as bad as the cavalier pricks who think having a gun makes them a badass. Having said that, while being afraid is a recipe for disaster

I've never seen the situation you describe. Examples please?

lol I don't even like kids, but come on...she's all of 3 years old. There will be plenty of time to teach her all about the realities of the world, when she's a little better mentally equipped to deal with it.

It's funny that you should ask that question, because every time I've ever been asked my position on feminism I state that I'm an Equalist.

For a long time I was in the position of having to choose between video games and food. I chose food every time. This is called responsible behaviour. Craziness.

I would argue that the spoiled babies are the ones who are told they can't have what they want so they just go and take it anyway. It doesn't matter why they can't have it, because...they want.

Yes, there are people suggesting that video games are not an entitlement. It's because they're not an entitlement.

Depends on the income level. Purchasing a home on a single income isn't irresponsible if you can reasonably afford it. Spending beyond your means is irresponsible, as more than a few of my friends unfortunately found out the hard way during the housing market collapse.

That's quite the stereotype you've got going on. I won't deny that it has some basis in reality, but I would suggest that anyone who listens to that kind of garbage over XBL is doing it wrong.

Some of us like the wired headsets. I certainly prefer them. Wireless doesn't automatically equal better.

I've wondered a few times about the possible effects of gaming on men's libido. I'm an avid gamer (always have been) and I certainly don't want constant sex. Hell, it's not uncommon for me to go weeks before I feel the urge.

It can work but at that distance you are definitely going to need an active usb cable....and I believe 50ft is the longest you can get. This is basically just a cable with a chip in it that acts as a signal amplifier/equalizer. Some can receive power from the usb bus itself, others require an external power source.
