Yes it does. If you think you have a right to ask the question then people also have the right to be offended by that question and to call you out on it

If you call them "ill" then you are saying they have a disease that you would ideally like to cure. A cold is something that you will get better from, and cancer and schizophrenia can be "cured" to some degree as well. Nobody wants to be sick.

Ok, But if it's a legitimate question then the offence is also legitimate, as is any commentary you attract calling you "bigoted" as a consequence.

For the love of Thor! I hate to be that guy, but somebody has to put this on the record - your continued irrational hate venting of the entire French population is not cute, it's racist (or bigoted specifically if you want to be pedantic).
It perplexes me why some people think its acceptable to hate the French people

I know that hating on the French is the only acceptable form of racism left in the world, but that's no excuse for swearing.
