It probably keeps the structural rigidity at the bare minimum level that the unibody frame won’t twist itself apart. The side impact cross-beam and door structure give the wee beastie a bit more strength. They probably bent the roof down aft of one of the cross braces. Also, it provides the driver a little more…

There can’t be much of a market for $100k 800hp ugly trucks that can’t carry anything but they’re out there building ‘em, and we can hardly even get a manual sports car anymore.... Smh
I’m not a truck guy, but I’ve always kinda had a soft spot for the “street truck” thing. The Lightning comes to mind. Never my thing, but I can respect it.
