I thought I remember them walking into it, then peacing out when they realized it wasn’t people, just fire melting their shit.

I was relieved to see the end of that entire family, frankly.
I picked up something I think you missed Rob. This episode kinda seems to question Carol’s ethics/code/morality quite a bit. The first point being Sam, if Carol hadn’t gone to such great lengths to put the fear of god into Sam (She didn’t just do it once she brought it up once or twice) maybe this wouldn’t have…
The other infuriating thing is Rick’s criticism of the Alexandrians about being weak and unprepared. As far as I can tell, they were doing just fine before Rick and the gang showed up. Now they’re almost all dead and the town is destroyed, thanks to Rick’s “plans” to save everyone.
What about the fact that for all of the shit Carol gave Morgan about putting himself first instead of the group with his no-kill policy, Carol had a hand in the Anderson family’s demise.
These are season 6 zombies. They have grown as characters.
Rob, I really enjoy your work. I have to almost completely disagree with you on your review of this episode (your disclaimers aside and with all respect to you as a writer and reviewer). I point by point now go through my disagreements with your review. I apologize for not having the time to insert quotes from your…
They mentioned it on talking dead- I mean the wolf was the guest. He tap danced around whether or not he feels his character actually changed or was just fascinated by Denise, but they talked about it. They kind of killed the conversation by asking Carrie Underwood what she thought and she couldn’t find an answer on…
I wanted to ignore the wolf’s turn around. It just felt so forced since the wolf attack wasn’t any more than 12 hours ago.
I felt it. The guy went down saving Denise and it obviously surprised Carol to see. Makes you wonder who the guy was before and how he got with the Wolves.
The writer indirectly comments on it when he points out that this should’ve been the midseason finale. Morgan and The Wolf’s arc should’ve wrapped in the same segment of the show, to have proper narrative impact. Instead, AMC breaks the show into mini seasons to milk as much ad revenue and buzz as possible.
Yeah I thought that added an interesting complexity to the Morgan and Carol power struggle. And then linking into Rick’s overarching power struggle with how Denise and Father Gabe especially then changed themselves too.
I feel like everyone has skipped it. Even EW (where I go for actual recaps. I come here for the commentary). Wolf was shot and threw himself on a zombie and yelled “GO!” To Denise. Carol sees this and feels conflicted. Did no one else but you and I see this?
You picked a hill to die on, and it’s some imaginary line that showing the death of a child is off limits. I guess.
So are we just gonna skip the whole thing of Morgan being right about the wolf?
The point wasn’t to angrily kill zombies (a point which it seems you and Bricken both missed), but the light and noise from the infirmary as Denise was operating on Carly was attracting the horde. Rick went outside to potentially die in order to buy the time for his son to be saved. Whatever, though. Haters gonna…
I prefer to call it: Daryl's diploma from badass university.
If I remember correctly she’s a psychiatrist, specifically because she realized blood and guts wasn’t for her. Life is funny.
Daryl. I know you found a rocket launcher, so now every problem looks like it requires a rocket launcher-shaped solution. But you know how else you could have lit that pool of oil on fire? A goddamned lighter. Settle the hell down.
