This. I loved this movie; it's a shame so few people know about it.

You beat me to it. The greatest part about this movie is that Steve McQueen did the driving scenes himself, rather than use a stunt driver. That's the whole reason this gratuitous shot of him actually in the car was included.
What are you trying to prove here? Indie developers will do better because people will be more willing to pay the $20 to buy the game rather than pirate the $60 AAA title. Plus, the people buying Gone Home for example, are more likely the type that actually pay for games.
This. So much this.
This is true. Going back to my Bioshock Infinite example, as much as I enjoyed that game, $60 for not even 9 hours of playtime wasn't exactly good value for the money...
Add anywhere between 5 and 15 percent to that amount. My PS4 cost me just under $460 after all was said and done.
You make a strong point here. It doesn't necessarily have to be Steam, but if you make an effort to look, you can pretty much always save some money, even on brand new games.
I look back at my preorder of SimCity more as a slightly overpriced preorder of Battlefield 3...
Humble Bundle alone is a huge selling point to get people to embrace the PC as a gaming platform. For someone just starting off, you can build a ~10 game collection with a $15 purchase on Humble Bundle. It's a great concept!
I rarely have the time to play a game on launch day, or even anytime around then. Even for a game like splinter cell blacklist, which I had been looking forward to for months; I even preordered it, but by the time I actually had the hours to devote to it, the game had been on sale at least once.
That's part of it; but sometimes it feels like an excuse to milk a few extra dollars out of consumers.
This brings up the issue of a lot of games these days having atrocious multiplayer modes added on to them that feel completely disconnected. I couldn't care less if Tomb Raider has a multiplayer mode, I'd much rather pay less for a version that doesn't have it; because I'm not going to use it.
Because $60 is completely unreasonable of a price.
It doesn't hurt indie developers since they don't charge $60 for a game. Gone Home was a great game, as was the Stanley Parable. But those two are $20 and $15 respectively at full price. I have no problem paying that much, because IMO that's a very fair price for a game.
Always wait for a Steam sale before buying a game. I've discovered over the past year that pretty much ALL the games are massively discounted at some point. I seriously regret buying Bioshock Infinite at full price on launch day only to see if go on sale for half off within weeks of being launched...
The S&P 500 keeps going up, but how long can it keep doing that for, especially since earnings aren't increasing proportionally? I would be extremely cautious to only be investing in one thing, even if that is an index.
The future of cars is going to be smaller designs, and there would be a market for a more upscale Buick subcompact. I don't think the general public sees it as a Chinese brand, and personally I don't either. Just as Cadillac is stepping up its game, Buick is doing the same but in a different [as slightly less…
Having previously owned an Asus router, I can't entirely agree with you. It was completely overwhelmed by the DD-WRT firmware and would continuously drop connections. I switched to Apple as a last resort, because I had always believed that DD-WRT was as good as it gets. Granted, maybe if I had bought two identical…
They did an excellent job as far as music goes for that franchise.
I've tried this in the past, and it works well. My only real requirement for study music is that it has no vocals, so generally I listen to 40s big band music, because it's uptempo but not distracting.
