The capacitors of my Duo died, so I changed them a couple years back. It fixed sounds issues, but sadly I was unable to make the CD-Rom work properly. Ordering the analogue Duo was a no-brainer to once again be able to enjoy the dozens of CD games I own for the system. Hurry up UPS!

Seeing YS I & II intro on TurboCD boot for the first time on my Turbografx+CD ROM add-on was maybe peak gaming for me.  I was a lucky kid.

Wailing guitars have never been my thing for solo listening, but this is awesome in-game. It’s like Dio and Tangerine Dream had a baby

This is one of the biggest soundtracks that I wish had an official album release. I’m not spending $100+ USD to get the TG-16 CD just to rip the redbook audio.

From what I could find previously on Youtube, Nick Wood is also a singer. Nick Wood and his collaborators own a music creative agency. https://syn.world/

Gate of Thunder was a masterpiece at the time, and completely showed off the CD audio the system was capable of. If I remember right, there wasn’t any other CD-based system on the market at the time, so leveraging that capability was a good move. Gate of Thunder was definitely a highlight. Its ‘spiritual sequel’ Lords

The Dawn of Ys still blows Memories of Celceta out of the water in terms of story and scope. (Mask of the Sun is just a bad game and shouldn’t even be part of the discussion.)

I definitely loved playing Rygar as a kid.  I still remember feeling very cool when I realized that you could indeed jump over a large pit in the first area.  You were supposed to climb up something in an earlier screen and then climb back down from the other side, but if you positioned yourself close enough to the

Rygar is probably one of my favorite NES games, but man it could be janky at times.

I love Faxanadu!

This game, and the NES version of Bionic Commando were oddballs in that they were much more complex and interesting than their arcade version counterparts. (I would argue that the arcade version of BC is actually not very good)

Rygar’s music will haunt me to the end of my days.

That PS2/Wii game is pretty good too!

I loved playing Rygar as a kid. It stymied me at first, but it didn’t take long to learn more and make some progress, and then I was hooked. I know I beat it a handful of times since it wasn't especially punishing. Great memories.

Rygar was one of the games I played as a kid that really gave me a passionate love for video games and wondering what was to come in the years ahead. It also taught me map making, note taking and whatnot, because you needed to revisit so much of it when you got stronger or had new gear. Yet, it was fairly friendly to

I’m having flashbacks to Atari saying that programmers were no more important than the people assembling the cartridges, and didn’t need to be credited. 😏

P. S. (1) What happened to that libel lawyer you “hired” you lying, paranoid, broke, bankruptcy-using scammer ?? Remember that ya liar, how thin-skinned you were in trying to get me to kowtow to your censorship demands that I delete all writing of you ?? Awwww, you poor “victim...”

He’s not defending their original intent. Their original intent was a harmless play on a companies name with no further implication. But in English it had a connotation they didn’t understand.

Thank you! This is not the story of a brave guy who was censored. it’s the story of a low level grunt trying to make decisions above his pay grade and getting pissy when he was told to get back in his lane.

I’m sorry but this guy seems like the biggest myopic idiot on the planet. Taking a stand...hah. Company decided they had a different aesthetic taste than his for a situation in game, this is not a situation in which “taking a stand” is called for. Like, did this guy go directly from the womb to this job or what?
