I was almost certain that the Monster Garage Wheelie Ambulance would end up on this list. Oh well.....

Sega has already said that the game has some sort of plot line to explain why both Sonics have come together. And are working to towards some kind of common goal. Maybe it's some kind of time rift caused by chaos emeralds? (Similar to what caused the events of Sonic X.) But I'm just guessing here.
