Huh? A tragedy is “an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.” What does that have to do with the existence of god?

When I first started working in an office, I didn’t understand why none of my female colleagues wore socks. Whether they were wearing skirts or pants, their naked ankle would just disappear into their shoes. Knowing that women tend to be more hygienic than men, I couldn’t understand why they were sticking their bare…

If you care at all about privacy, the last slide is the only one that matters.
“you’ll have noticed these apps try to save all your files on OneDrive.”
I’ve been going to popular, always crowded restaurants during the Superbowl for years, at least until the pandemic hit. It’s one of my favorite days of the year as I relax in the crazy popular restaurant I never could have gotten into otherwise.
What if you’re just a night owl who stays up late because evening is when you’re most active and alert? (See my user name.) Every night I look at the clock and think, “Well, I’m not tired, but I have to wake up in 6 hours, so I guess I should start getting ready for bed.”
I was about to ask about people cooking their (jarred) sauces at all. My mother would boil dry pasta, drain it, put it on a plate, and serve chilled sauce separately, straight from the refrigerator. I always thought the temperature contrast was the point.
Symptoms or not, I’m planning to take a test before going to visit my family at the end of the month for a milestone family birthday. There will be half a dozen 80+ year-olds in attendance and I’m going to do everything I reasonably can to ensure that I don’t infect them.
So people use their freezers for things other than frozen pizzas and store-bought frozen dinners?
I’m still seeing public health experts on the news saying that we should all be wearing N95 masks all the time, but then saying 45 seconds later that most of the N95 masks on the market are counterfeit.

My family loves “Yikerz!” Both players start with 10 small magnetic pieces. You take turns putting them down on the game board (which consists of four triangular pieces you can arrange in different configurations for different challenges). If, when you put your magnetic piece down, two or more magnetic pieces come…
“I’m not going to get vaccinated.”
I contribute the maximum allowed every year and haven’t deducted a cent from my HSA in all the years I’ve had it. As others have noted, that allows it to grow tax free. I figure I’ll have plenty of medical expenses in retirement, and in any case--again, as others have noted--it essentially becomes another…
Yes, he absolutely nailed a parody of the cartoonishly stupid and inaccurate analogies right wingers offer to completely mischaracterize socialism. Great job!
Exactly. Most Americans like socialist policies even if they recoil at the word “socialism.” For example, the majority of Americans say they support universal health care, and agree that health care should be affordable or maybe even free. But they would say that they oppose “socialized medicine.”
Don’t forget that correlation does not imply causality. I’d be willing to bet that the reason so few people surveyed have a budget that they follow each month or have a debt payoff strategy is precisely because they’re doing reasonably well financially, so they don’t have to sweat every dime and don’t have…
I’ve never understood “for sale by owner.” Who else has the legal right to sell it?
