I second all these suggestions! I especially loved Sourdough. In the same vein of comfort reads, The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and There's Something About Sweetie were both great. TSAS is YA romance, but managed to be cute instead of grating.

This may sounds weird, but what’s been getting me through this week is my mom’s potato salad. Yes, the mom I’m currently furious with. It has a lot of vinegar and eggs, and tastes just childhood, and I’ve made two batches already. 

I love both the bathroom and the banana bread.
