Canned chickpeas, because it’s the one source of protein both kids will eat without complaining, and they’re great in the air fryer. I already have a shitload of Bath and body works hand sanitizer, because I only buy their stuff during the semi-annual sale, and that was a few months ago. I should probably get toilet

Now I have to buy some to find out what New Mexico smells like!

Irish nachos in one of those big, flat bowls.

Good.

I am a bit concerned because, according to news sources, I’m high risk (diabetic). I also have a preschooler who brings home ALL the colds, which I promptly catch. But even I don’t have a stockpile of toilet paper or hand sanitizer. We’re singing when we wash hands, because my kiddo gets easily distracted and thinks

Ecto Cooler, the trashy drink of my childhood! My mom once made a St Patrick's Day punch with that stuff. It was not great, but definitely memorable.

This is something I think about a lot. I’m a WOC but raising a white stepson. He’s still very young, but that sense of entitlement is already very strong. My white husband assumes the kids know Nazis and racism is bad, but I think we can go a lot deeper than that, and we can’t assume anything.

I’m a Virgo too, and use the candy/cookie/seasonal flavored creamers. And we're definitely not boring and traditional!

I buy a lot of grocery store sushi. I know sushi isn't technically a snack food, but I eat them like they are. And yeah, grocery store sushi is far from the best, but there's something satisfying about the trashy yum yum sauce drizzle and tiny packages of wasabi.

I don't know about the meat/fish pillows, but my preschooler threw a fit over a taco pillow she desperately wanted the other day. It appeals to her on a meta level to eat tacos while sitting next to a taco pillow.

I make Shirley Temples at home for myself sometimes. I have an unhealthy love for maraschino cherries.

It looks so good, I definitely need to make that! I used to bake a lemon pound cake on nights when I couldn't sleep, just because the smell of lemons and cake in the oven were so soothing.

I’m 16 hours into Fire Emblem: Three Houses, so I’m going to try to finish it as soon as possible, mostly because my kids, who didn’t have any interest in the Switch for months, are now clamoring to play their games on it. After that, I’m going to start either RDR2 or Persona 5.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Best of luck, guys. Gita, your articles always made my day a little brighter, and it was great to see another WOC declare her love of gaming.

Oh, I'm so excited! I usually pass on the Stuff Packs, but I'll have to get this one.

Or you can eat cereal dry, like I used to as a kid (and still do, although I seldom eat cereal these days). My brother was allergic to dairy, and this was back before the hundreds of varieties of nondairy milk, so we just never had milk in the fridge.

Great article. I’m a woman with a four year old daughter on her way to becoming a gamer, and I hope that she will have a safe, positive gaming journey ahead of her. She has grown up watching Aloy fight her way across the television screen, so it’s normal for her to see both female and male video game protagonists.

Oh, me too (about taking time off). I’m just super paranoid after Deadspin. I need The Takeout!

I'm wondering the same thing. It seems like days since an actual new article from the Takeout writers.
