I enjoyed Miracle Creek by Angie Kim and Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay. My goal was to read 50 books by Asian and Asian American writers (the YARC 2019 challenge), and I read 48. I’m Asian American and a big reader (I read 255 books overall in 2019), so I’m happy I almost met that goal

I gave my brother a lot of grief the other day when I found out he never finished FF VIII. He played that game for at least 80 hours, and watched me play 40 more! But he just bought the remastered version and is going to attempt to finish it this year. That means he’ll probably ignore the copy of Outer Worlds I got

I feel the same way about Luigi. I don’t care for him, but the game does look like fun! Maybe I’ll pick up a copy, especially because I have two kids under 10, and I (not necessarily them) am all Minecrafted out.

I typically wear stuff probably marketed for tweens (despite having an almost tween kid), but the price and the ORANGE makes it a hard sell. Maybe if you're in an irritated mood and want to irritate other people with your shoes? I also don't think baby Yoda is that cute, but I haven't seen The Mandarlorian yet.

I got a copy of Fire Emblem: Three Houses for Christmas and assumed I was going to play that, but my youngest came down with the stomach flu, so probably nothing. Maybe I'll get to finish Doki Doki Literature Club, though.

My husband loves it and wants me to play, but I can't see the appeal either. Goose mischief? Meh.

I just bought We Met in May on Steam, it sounds like the kind of indie game I’ll love. Control is a game I started right before my husband’s copy of Death Stranding arrived ... and thus it was pushed aside for a while, but what I did play was very good.

Winner!

Wait, they're turning it into three games? That sounds like a giant disaster.

Like the other parents commenting, my goal is to be able to play something this year. Anything! My tastes usually run to MA rated games, like Fallout or Witcher 3, but I picked up some indie games on Steam that seemed family friendly (or at least not traumatizing if I’m playing it in the same room as the kids). I also

My husband and kids have celiacs, so today’s been an adventure in gluten free baking. I made a gf butter pound cake that the kids decorated with frosting. We also attempted gf gingerbread cookies, but couldn’t get the dough to roll out without crumbling for gingerbread men. Tomorrow I’ll bake my gluten free version of

They look fantastic!

Much like the past three years.

I have never been prouder of my brother, a lifelong Republican and NRA member, for not buying into the herd mentality. I asked him who he voted for after the elections, and he said, “Did you really think I’d vote for a rapist racist?” He also stopped his NRA membership after reading about Philando Castile and NRA’s

I’ve been playing Cities: Skyline all week, so I’ll probably keep playing that. I also want to pick up Final Fantasy XV again, but I saved right before a big dungeon battle, and it’s not the best place to reacquaint myself with the game

I've been eyeing Cat Quest 2. Glad to hear it's fun!

I agree with you. My mom was in a physically abusive relationship with my stepfather at the time, but the preacher who counseled them advised them to stay together. The motherfucker almost killed her, but it didn’t matter - the sanctity of marriage did.

I finished Death Stranding last night (and feel mostly fine about it), so this weekend I might play the post game, or put it aside to start Control again (I played about 30 minutes before abandoning it when our copy of DS arrived) or maybe Life is Strange.

There’s a book called A Tale of Time City that I read as a kid. In the future world, there was this delicious ice cream, butterscotch like concoction where the hot ingredients were mixed with the cold to make this perfect blended treat. I always wanted to try it.

I have the first Life is Strange, but haven’t played yet because of babies and adulting. But this is a beautiful review, and I might start with 2 instead. They’re separate entities, right? Or should I start with 1?
