Exactly. When everyone in a cabinet is caught taking flights that cost $100,000 a pop, the story writes itself. You don’t have to be biased. I’d like to think normal, conservative people would be just as disgusted and outraged but then I remember conservatives need gays and abortions banned and would tolerate anything

Only if you reflexively think criticism of a politician is A) automatically coming from a place of partisanship and B) a product of bias.

The idea of the “Liberal Media” has always been predicated on the idea that Harvard and Yale are really far-out leftist hotspots.

She was in a car accident that disfigured her face. Most of the procedures were reconstructive.

I thought those dresses were (brightly coloured) spanx

It’s a shame he’s best known for the bandage dress. Don’t get me wrong—I liked it in it’s time, and even wore one to my bachelorette party years ago. But he was a master at both tailoring and draping. His designs really celebrated the female form. Do yourself a favor and Google his full name, then scroll through his

I might buy this if Lisa Bloom weren’t rich enough to buy a $2.3 million house last year. That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a zillionaire, but she is rich enough that she could have chosen not to represent him, and still had money and time to spare for pro bono clients.

No, but it is fairly easy to not take the case in the first place. It’s not as if Bloom wasn’t aware of what type of guy Weinstein was when she agreed to represent him. Everyone knew.

You obviously don’t have a lot of experience with civil cases. Lawyers get to withdraw all the time. Plus, there’s no case so she doesn’t have to get approval to withdraw.

Does she and her mother actually practice law in courts. I’ve only ever seen both of them at press conferences.

From what I understand, though, there’s no court case yet and as such no judge involved. This expose came out, he’s threatened to sue. Any lawyer involved on his end could have chosen not to take the case if they’d wanted to.

Harvey Weinstein was born in 1952, not 1852. I think trying to justify his behavior by saying that he “...came of age in the 60's and 70's when all the rules about workplace behavior were different,” is utter bullshit. Did he fall into a coma from 1980 to 2017? Does he really think anyone is going to buy this sad

Lawyers are perfectly entitled to refuse representation. She could have told him no. But like her mother, I suspect she would represent anybody if it got her camera time.

He’s not being charged, or sued. There’s no lawyer code that says “defend every jagoff criticized of anything and protect his precious gropey feelings”.

She’s not defending him, she’s running PR. Everyone has a right to a defense, not positive press.

She has enough money that she could choose to represent clients that align with her ‘brand’ as a lawyer. She could be a human that teaches powerful men that when they abuse their power, there won’t be people lining up to help them out of whatever situation they’ve put themselves in.

I must have missed the court order appointing her as his attorney.

Plus, wasn’t the last SATC movie widely panned as being terrible?? Why the hell would she want to sign on for more of that?

If she was negotiating then she was saying that she wanted to do the film.
