I don’t know what this new club will be like. But my understanding of the old Playboy Clubs was that they were not strip clubs.

You know, it’s interesting you say that because your criteria for a good bar are similar to mine - and the exact reasons I almost certainly won’t go to the one in NYC.

I’m not reflexively against the idea. Personally, I like the aesthetic (I can dip!) and I think it’s far, FAR less trashy than a lot of the“outfits” I’ve been seen on various bottle girls and bartenders in my life.

Precisely. The strategic/military considerations are what they are—you aren’t going to be able to stop China from building and reinforcing those bases in the South China Sea unless you are willing to blockade them, which is a colossally stupid idea for all the of the reasons set forth in the article.

So, how do you

They’re supposed to support the country, not the person in office.

So we’re these guys. Doesn’t look scary or fascist at all.

I know, that’s all I was thinking. Like, leave your campus and take your rage and aggression to somewhere that will need it soon. Like when Trump orders the standing rock tribe to be fired upon with live ammo.

One of the worst things that has happened in our democratic discourse is what I like to call the “stupidman” fallacy.

You don’t show up to protest his rallies, because that’s exactly why he’s doing it. His whole schtick is to provoke and provoke until he gets a reaction, then he cries his crocodile tears over freeze peach, and then rinse and repeat. Without that, he’s just some asshole spouting off ridiculous nonsense.

You could start by not feeding into him so perfectly with violent protests. This sort of reaction to him coming to a campus isn’t the effect of him gaining national traction, it’s the cause of him gaining national traction.

Counterpoint: trolls thrive on conflict and getting a reaction, and so resorting to violence and/or vandalism as protest is giving him exactly what he wants. The entire scheme is to poke the bear and get people angry enough to provoke physical retaliation, and then say “oh look how violent these ‘tolerant’ leftists

The Neo-Nazi’s got what they wanted. A violent group of leftists “supressing campus free speech.”

I truly don’t understand this take. There are twenty CEO’s on the panel including Tim Cook, Elon musk, and Indra nooyi to name a few. Just because you are on the advisory panel does not make one a trump supporter or “working” with Trump. Being on the panel is s great opportunity to give contrary opinions that go

That’s why I don’t bother. It’s another weaksause #activism. Especially when they still accept the ad dollars.

Good luck finding a company that is 100% pure. Do you know that Peter Thiel, big Trump supporter, is a big investor in Lyft?

Lyft was also accepting rides at JFK during this time with no surge. Doing exactly the same thing.

Agreed. “Delete Uber!” is the kind of bullshit (and easy) thing that someone can do in order to crow on social media and feel good for a minute. But in the big picture, it is meaningless.

Dear Rest of the Planet and It’s Leaders,

Black Hawk Down: If you haven’t seen this film, do yourself a favor and watch it before it is gone.

That’s a lot of different colored shapeless sacks.
