i did and there is no black hole. nothing in the old EU was essential to Star Wars and a lot of it contradicted what was in the movies. Even the Thrawn Trilogy wasn't canon because it contradictted what was said about the Clone Wars and other things.

disney did say otherwise they said the only things that are canon are the 6 movies and clone war cartoon. All old EU stuff is non canon
