From what I hear the margins just aren't that great on small cars. And what was the Scion brand based on,....you got it. I always felt they pulled the plug kinda early though. But then again I'm not a bean counter.

I bought a 06' Scion Tc in late 2005. I paid $16.5k, kept it 3 and a half years, got tired of it then sold it for $13.5k. In those 42 months I owned her it ended up only costing me $71 dollars a month to maintain ownership. I always thought that was a helluva thing, is every vehicle that cheap to own the first 3-4…
Well put, I often think I like the middle option. A one to two year old that has 15-30k miles and a healthy amount of warranty left to get you through the first 3 or 4 years bumper to bumper.
If everything has to be a CUV nowadays, we be screwed. It reminds me of a evolution of the first gen SRX. Doesn't do anything for me, mostly because of Crossover.
I'd love a new Mazda 3 Hatch 2.5 turbo Premium Plus. (damn, that's a helluva title) But that price is getting close to Kia Stinger or the like.
$15K....174,000 miles =GTFO.
My sentiment=Meh!....it’s for scared little sheep.
I’ve thought that for years!....they often advertise these pricing “tactics” as if consumers want to see that. Fuck that, that’s what I think when I hear/see those ads. I’d love to see an article about the psychology of why dealerships promote "no haggle" as being in the best interest of the buyer. Good Grief, now I'm…
Well put, I’ve been wondering about that for a while now. Seemed quite out of place, but they were throwing in the headline as a go-to article for a time, quite recently actually.
I think of Black Mirror “Metalhead” episode. Terrifying.
I have a legit question, what was happening with Jalopnik in the era when the article linked about the China islands was written? I see other articles about tanks, bombers, fighter planes but haven't seen any since I've been reading regularly. I mean huh.
Do you mean 1929, the year of the Stock Market crash, and the beginning of the Great Depression?....1939......just your average war started.
Yep very true. Also true that the new millennium has kinda stunk with 9/11 kicking it off in "grand fashion".
This hasn’t aged well, apparently.
Yes of course, every manual needs to be fit to that specific engine, particularly for a higher end New car. Just mind-numbing we can’t have some crazy unicorn 6MT 3365Hp twin turbo G70 or Stinger!
I don't believe that for a second,....unless you were kidding. There's tranny's everywhere for all sorts of engines.
These are popular.
I will surmise that these will be absolute gold-starred,.....but on the used market. If you have a well taken care of example, you can basically name your price within reason. Hell, if I was in the market tomorrow one of these would be in my top three undoubtedly.
Hey IDK WTF it is, but since I've turned 40 I have come to have a entire new respect for Vanilla ice cream. In fact it's unreal. I'd fight for it!
178 HP & 55 MPG = Sign me Up!
