Isn’t it still small enough that it can’t skirt most passenger car safety regulations? Something like the Elf can usually because it’s big enough that they don’t give a shit, but a van that’s still sold in regular cargo and passenger versions would still be subject to normal rules, I’d assume.

My ‘06 Altima was that way.  So’s my current ‘14 Mazda3.  Just good all-around vehicles, simple and dependable, yet fun.

My wife had two of those generation of Maximas and would love to have one again if it wasn’t for rust and age.

I don’t know why you’d get a Maxima over an Altima anymore.

I thought the maxima was discontinued years and years ago until i saw one recently.

My best friend had a 95 in high school and I loved driving that thing, also my dad had the I30 version. I am not a Nissan fan but that generation of Max/I30 was great.

It’s amazing how Nissan took the Maxima from a good car that filled its niche really well for many years to a less attractive option than an Altima.

if it doesn’t suck, it might be my next ride”

Neutral: i HAVE bought cars recently. Got a ‘00 Prelude SH in January and then somewhat unexpectedly a ‘12 E63 Wagon in May. i could be fooling myself but i think i got them at reasonable prices too. Still dreading the day the maintenance shoe drops on the Mercedes, but until then i’ll remain super pleased.

I read about GM being developing a new Express to compete with the Transit. But seems to be based on the new Silverado platform, so don’t expect an Euro-style unibody van.

I miss having the idea of having a CD Player in my car.

Fleet sales, my fellow internet commenter, fleet sales.

I’m surprised GM hasn’t bothered giving us a new Express since the basic design has been around since the Clinton Administration.

Chrysler 300.

I posted about it a while back in another conversation but my father was an abusive alcoholic that near always drank (he literally drank himself to death with liver cirrhosis). He constantly got DUIs and was near never arrested for it or simply let go. One event I remember in particular was when my brother and I were

My HS crush owned one of these, so sentimental NP.

Only tangentially related - I’m renting a “Blazer” on a trip now, and the low-speed throttle response is fucking atrocious. I nearly made two of my family members vomit, and I’m usually an extremely smooth driver. It acts like a teeny bit of pressure on the gas pedal = GO AS FAST AS YOU FUCKING CAN, and you can’t

I hate the Avalon.

Here’s the points where Mr. Alcoholic Community College Professor is right:

I’ve wondered that myself.
