It’s a first world problem when that celebration costs $20,000 and can break you financially if all the pieces don’t fall into place perfectly. In other countries in small villages, people don’t spend $20,000 on weddings. You can have a get together and party w/o spending the equivalent of a lifetime salary of a third

Pretty much nailed it. Most of Jezebel’s articles and headlines lately have been written in a similar trend. It’s not longer reporting - it’s just clickbait and an opportunity for the author to have an internal argument (but you know, in public for all of their readers to witness) with the subject they choose to drag,

They charged that idiot forest service lady that started the Hayman fire in Colorado in 2002, she was burning a love letter supposedly and it got out of control and a few firefighters died and a bunch of homes were destroyed. It was our worst fire until this year. She was charged with felony arson and for lying about

This is all about social media content. You won’t get rid of one without the other.

“To be clear, Karvunidis appears to be condemning explosions or violence stemming from gender reveal celebrations more than the antiquated format in which adults celebrate the publication of the kind of genitals a fetus appears to have in the womb...

Glad this is the first comment, because I came here to say just that.  Joan usually doesn’t know what she’s talking about when it comes to real estate or wealth, so not too surprising she made this ridiculous remark. :)

One that sticks out to me: Teigen might not shop in a price point high enough to interact with the Oppenheim Group.

It’s not that crazy - he was probably in the country on a K-1 visa and they needed to marry quickly for him to stay and get a green card. I have a good friend who did the same and had a more formal wedding more than a year after their legal wedding.

Exactly.  No one’s long-term garden looks good when it’s first planted - nothing’s mature, and it always looks so underwhelming.

I’m on board with the snark but don’t downplay the importance of accessibility to places of significance, like the Rose Garden. This one thing is a good improvement. In addition to tours, should they ever resume, this gives access to reporters who require accessible paths.

I’m not judging this too harshly. The before pictures I’ve seen were all taken in April/May, at the peak of the season for tulips and flowering crabapples. It would never look that colorful in August anyway, and there may still be thousands of tulip bulbs underground. (Of course removing the trees is really stupid.)

While the article is really interesting, I was a bit surprised by the limited scope of it, especially considering the title of it. There’s been a lot of discussion of late how OnlyFans has also shifted the dynamics a lot for female performers as well, yet they are kind of ignored here while it is supposedly about the

I think you are underestimating the appeal of personal connection. People pay good money for the illusion of knowing the performer, and OnlyFans is an ideal venue for that.

It kind of invalidates anything else she says.

Imagine if somebody told you the 100% earnestly believed the Earth was flat, and then tried to give you their opinion on...anything else. You would absolutely discredit their opinion based upon their clear lack of judgment.

Yeah, this is what they call burying the lede.

Thank you for the pricing breakdown.  I like to watch Hometown and Good Bones because the homes and people involved are way more down to Earth.  They also use color-so tired of everything being gray and white.

I love my brother and I believe my brother

That figure actually makes sense to me. Renovations are extremely expensive because labor costs so much. A modest new kitchen will cost you $20k. New floors, installed throughout a home, are around $10k. Bathrooms are $5k if you don’t move any plumbing and choose inexpensive finishes, $10-15k if you’re moving stuff

I like home renovation shows, but they are SO MUCH BETTER when prices are realistic. It’s really interesting to see houses in places with depressed markets getting fixed up, or seeing what can be done for 30 grand. Late Fixer Upper (and property brothers now too) all have people with budgets of $1,000,000. Fucking
